Grants and funding

SA Arid Lands Community Grants 2017-18 now open

Land managers, progress associations and volunteer groups in the SA Arid Lands region have until 19 May to submit applications for grants of up to $10,000 for natural resources management projects.

The SA Arid Lands NRM Board is keen to gather as many applications as possible through this initial call in order to gauge interest in the community appetite for an ongoing small grants program.

$100,000 is being put towards this program in 2017/18 in support of applications that meet the Board's criteria, with remaining applications used to assess and refine where the Board directs its investment in subsequent years.

Successful projects will be assessed against criteria that include broad alignment with the SA Arid Lands NRM Board’s new  Regional NRM Plan 2017-2027 .

The Board welcomes applications from single groups and properties; however collaborative, multi-partner applications tackling landscape-scale issues will be viewed favourably.

Key target areas include native vegetation and native species management and monitoring, soil conservation and erosion control, water resource management, and pest plant and animal control as well as initiatives that support sustainable primary production.
