Our natural resources including our soil, water, plants and animals are of great importance to the people of South Australia. They are fundamental to our health, wellbeing and way of life, and provide the foundation for the state’s prosperity.
Primary producers, industry, business, councils, non-government organisations and community groups work with the South Australian and Australian governments to conserve our natural resources and manage how they are used.
At the heart of this collaborative approach is the partnership between the South Australian Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources and the natural resources management boards in each of the regions shown above.
The boards are made up of local people who understand their region's needs. Board members help ensure that our natural resources are managed in a way that is not only sustainable but also benefits landholders and the broader community, now and in the future.
