Volunteer support

Natural Resources Northern and Yorke (NY) provides support for volunteer groups or individual volunteers working on natural resource management activities in our region. Contact us for advice if you are thinking of starting a new volunteer group in the NY region.

Volunteer training

A variety of training opportunities are provided free of charge to NY volunteers throughout the year. If your group has specific training needs, you can contact us for assistance.

Volunteering SA hosts regular training sessions around the state on topics such as working in teams, event management, mentoring, conflict transformation, aged care, safe food handling and motivation and goal setting.

Volunteer safety and insurance

Volunteers are recognised as a key part of Natural Resources NY and we are committed to their health and safety.

We have a comprehensive volunteer safety framework that helps staff and volunteers effectively manage health and safety across all areas of out business, from short volunteering events over weekends and school holidays to long-term projects and work experience.

Volunteers working in partnership with Natural Resources NY on public and private land may be covered by SAICORP insurance. Contact our natural resources centre for more information.

Recognising our volunteers

Recognition of volunteers is important to us – there are a number of ways that the effort and contributions of volunteers are recognised and celebrated.

Volunteer celebrations

We hold local volunteer celebrations throughout the year to celebrate and recognise the contribution made by volunteers in our region.

Awards

There are many opportunities to nominate volunteers, groups and business for outstanding achievements. Visit the following for more information on the award and nominations.
