Commonwealth On-Farm Further Irrigation Efficiency Program
The Australian Government has established the Commonwealth On-Farm Further Irrigation Efficiency (COFFIE) Program to assist irrigators in the Murray-Darling Basin to modernise and improve the efficiency of their on-farm irrigation infrastructure and return the resulting water savings to the environment.
The Australian Government is delivering a pilot of the COFFIE program in South Australia in order to refine the program design. The South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board has been selected to act as the Delivery Partner for the pilot of the program in South Australia.
COFFIE pilot service standards – our commitment to you
The South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board has been working in partnership with the Australian Government and irrigators to deliver irrigation efficiency programs across the southern connected Murray-Darling Basin region since 2010.
The SAMDB NRM Board has well established project management and governance structures that enable it to administer large scale programs in a cost effective and efficient manner which ensures the experience for participants is positive and one that delivers maximum benefit for their business.
In its role of Delivery Partner for the COFFIE Pilot programme the SAMDB NRM Board and regional staff will actively support irrigators through the complete project cycle - development, assessment and implementation.
A more detailed overview of the services that will be provided to irrigators at each stage of the project cycle is available in the COFFIE Pilot Guide for Participants.
Importantly COFFIE Pilot programme staff are based in the region and as such are readily accessible and available to provide a high level of hands-on support to irrigators at all times.
