Volunteering with other groups

Local Action Planning groups

Local Action Planning (LAP) groups enable communities, industry and government to work together to address the big issues of environmental degradation in the SA Murray-Darling Basin. You can volunteer for a LAP group or speak with them about volunteering opportunities in their local area – contact a group in your area for more information.

Community natural resource management centres

Volunteering opportunities are available with the region’s community natural resource management centres – the Mt Pleasant Natural Resources Centre, the Strathalbyn Natural Resources Centre and the Lakes Hubs at Milang and Meningie.

Volunteer community groups

Volunteer groups operating in the region are involved in a range of activities, including revegetation, bush care, sustainable farming, wetland management and various monitoring activities.

You can find a community group on our map and search according to location that you are interested in. The map also includes local groups from Landcare Australia, Bush for Life and Friends of Parks.

Opportunities for volunteers outside the region

Even if you don’t live in the region, you can still play a part in protecting it. Parts of the region are as little as a 20 minute drive from Adelaide and there may be opportunities to volunteer remotely. Fill out the volunteer expression of interest form or contact one of the following organisations who may have activities in the region for you:
