Work experience and university placements

Natural Resources South East (through DEWNR) offers work experience placements for secondary and tertiary students.  

Work experience placements are a gain insight and experience in a career in natural resources management. Whether you want to be outdoors, in the office or a mixture of both, there is a variety of career paths in NRM in areas such as:

  • ecology
  • marine science
  • land management
  • agriculture
  • administration
  • finance
  • policy
  • project management
  • community engagement
  • media and communications
  • Aboriginal engagement

If you are interested in a career in NRM, conservation or the environment, you will find a work experience placement with us valuable.

Placements depend on available opportunities and are assessed on a case-by-case basis, usually by the manager of the relevant work area.

Secondary students

Term 3 is our official intake for work experience students. Placements outside of this date is subject to availability.

Students interested in work experience in Term 3 must complete the following work experience placement form and send to natasha.dawson@sa.gov.au or fax to 8735 1145.

Public School students need to complete the additional DECD workplace learning agreement form.

Students interested in work experience outside of Term 3 must complete the DEWNR work experience enquiry form and send to david.new@sa.gov.au or post

Students from non-Government schools need to provide a work experience form provided by your school.

Tertiary students

To register your interest, complete the DEWNR work experience enquiry form.
