Water sustainability is not just for people 'on the farm' or industry. Even if you live in town it is vital that you care for your water resources and save water where possible.
Below is a short clip about 'Sid's Lid's', a Gross Pollutant Trap that filters the rubbish, leaves and litter dropped in Mt Gambier’s streets to stop them entering the aquifer from which we drink. To mark National Water Week each year, Natural Resources South East and City of Mount Gambier collaborate on one of the quarterly liftings of Sid’s Lid and emptying of the giant filter.
Thanks to City of Mt Gambier’s Environmental Sustainability Officer Aaron Izzard for his explanation of the process.
