Land monitoring and evaluation

Landscapes in the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges (AMLR) region support a range of activities that underpin environmental health, economic productivity and social well being. Primary production in the region is valued at approximately $876 million per annum at the farm gate.

To track our progress toward finding a balance between our collective need for resources and the needs of our environment, Natural Resources AMLR monitors:

  • land condition
  • soil condition
  • weather
  • agricultural production.

Reporting on progress

In line with the AMLR Natural Resources Management Plan, there are two long-term targets for the condition of land in the region:

  • maintain or increase the productive capacity of agriculture
  • improve land condition for primary production by 15 per cent.

How we are progressing toward our goals is captured in regional report cards.
