Come to this FREE workshop

The Natural Resources AMLR Volunteer Support team is running a 2-part workshop to provide environmental volunteer groups across the AMLR region with the tools, skills and knowledge to engage and retain new volunteers.

Part 1

Tuesday 13 August 9.30 am - 3 pm

The first workshop provides you with tools, resources, knowledge and tips to attract volunteers. Groups will reflect on current practices and reveal gaps where improvements can be made.

  • Experienced community engagement consultant Becky Hirst will facilitate a section on the day.
  • Guest speakers from the University of South Australia will present recent research findings looking at barriers to engaging youth volunteers.

Groups will have a take-home challenge to apply their learnings within groups and engage new volunteers.

Morning tea and lunch provided.

Part 2

Tuesday 24 September, 9.30 am - 12.30 pm

The second workshop focuses on knowledge sharing, reflection and mentoring new recruits. Groups will recap main learnings from Part 1. Participants will report back, share outcomes and learn from others.

Learn about mentoring new recruits and how best to continue growing your group into the future.

Morning tea provided.
