Waterproofing the East

A major stormwater use project ‘Waterproofing Eastern Adelaide’ is well underway with stormwater across the cities of Burnside and Norwood Payneham & St Peters, and the Town of Walkerville, being harvested, filtered, stored and reused for irrigation.

Waterproofing Eastern Adelaide will capture and treat up to 500 million litres of stormwater from local watercourses each year.

The $22 million project created wetlands, a treatment site and pump stations, which aim to reduce spending on local reserve irrigation as well as green suburbs, and enhance the quality of water that is discharged to our gulf.
