North West Pastoral Field Day Gallery
The first field day in Glendambo for well over a decade attracted people from across the north-west region and beyond, with more than 250 people at the event. As well as a number of stall holders, guest speaker sessions were run throughout the day on topics including: weather outlook; access to capital and commodities; livestock health and MLA research projects; feral animals; and battery storage and solar systems. Sheep dog training sessions were also held, along with demonstrations on sheep pregnancy scanning, drones, and desalination. Livestock SA representatives attended and also held a Q&A session. ABC Country Hour did a live broadcast from the field day and a podcast is available from the day.
The day was organised by the Kingoonya NRM Group and was supported by the SA Arid Lands NRM Board, BHP Olympic Dam, Meat & Livestock Australia, OZ Minerals, Sheep Connect SA, and WPG Resources Ltd, with ICPA (Isolated Children's Parents Association) volunteers providing catering for the event.
