The vision: communities contributing to the management of natural resources.

People are the region's greatest asset. The skills, knowledge, labour and motivation of individuals and groups are critical to the effectiveness of natural resources management in our region.

There are many groups and organisations who are actively participating in natural resources management in the SA Murray-Darling Basin such as:

  • industry bodies
  • Local Action Planning associations
  • Landcare groups
  • ‘Friends of’ groups
  • government agencies
  • non-Government organisations
  • Traditional Owner groups
  • volunteer groups
  • landholders.

Improving community capacity to manage natural resources sustainably and working together on priority natural resources management issues will result in greater achievements and greater ability to adapt to change.
