School sustainability planning

With the support of the NRM Education team, the sustainability and environmental education school planner is a tool used to:

  • map out your school’s sustainability and environmental education opportunities, plans, activities and actions for teachers and students
  • provide an instant progress snapshot for the school, NRM Education team, DECD and other networks
  • allow NRM Education coordinators to work strategically with your school
  • provide a gateway to applying for grants.

The School Sustainability Action Plan template provides a simple format for schools and students to plan the steps on their sustainability journey. Write your goal in the centre and the steps needed to achieve it in the spaces around it.

To develop a more detailed School Environmental Management Plan (SEMP), you can use one of these templates or develop your own:

Visit Adelaide & Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources NRM Education’s ‘'Education for Sustainability'’ page for examples of school environmental management plans and the benefits of developing a School Environmental Management Plan (SEMP).
