NRM Volunteer Small Grants

Please note: applications close 25 March 2019.

What are the NRM Volunteer Small Grants?

The NRM Volunteer Small Grants support volunteers in the SA Murray-Darling Basin who are working to protect and restore the environment and natural resources of our region.

What can the grants be used for?

The funding can be used for whatever volunteer groups need to make their work safer, more effective, or more enjoyable! This could include:

  • personal protective equipment
  • tools and equipment (including for monitoring)
  • training, technical support or advice
  • field days and tours
  • books and field guides
  • recognising and celebrating volunteers
  • communications materials or activities
  • contractors to assist with difficult or unsafe activities.

If oversubscribed, priority will be given to projects which focus on volunteer safety and well-being. Please note that items such as fuel, vehicle registration and on-going maintenance costs are not eligible.

Who can apply?

The grants are for community volunteer groups involved in natural resources management activities in the SA Murray-Darling Basin. Unincorporated groups need to be sponsored by an incorporated organisation, such as a local action planning or landcare group, to take responsibility for the legal and financial accountability of the project and to receive funding. Sponsoring organisations can sponsor more than one project. Please note all reporting from previous rounds must be completed to be eligible to apply.

How much can be applied for?

Each group can apply for up to $1000+GST and can only apply for one project.

When do projects need to be completed?

Funding must be spent by 30 September 2019. A simple final report with copies of tax invoices will be due by 8 November 2019.

When are applications due?

The application form must be submitted by 5.00pm ACDT on Monday 25 March 2019.
