Natural Resources South East

Our role

Natural Resources South East is responsible for delivering a range of programs and projects on behalf of the South East Natural Resources Management (NRM) Board and the Department for Environment and Water. Working together with our partners, volunteers and the broader South East community, our business includes public lands responsibilities, encouraging sustainable production practices, and conserving and managing the region's environment.

Our work aims to achieve the targets set out in the region’s NRM Plan. This plan was developed by the South East NRM Board in partnership with the community, stakeholders and partners.

Your Natural Resources Centre is more than just a physical location – it is the people behind the counter; officers in the field; rangers and site interpreters in our national parks; and staff that support the community in a variety of ways . We are committed to delivering our services in a professional and timely way, as outlined in our Customer Service Charter

Aboriginal partnerships

Natural Resources South East acknowledges and respects the traditional owners of the ancestral lands of the South East. We acknowledge elders past and present and we respect the deep feelings of attachment and relationship of Aboriginal peoples to country.

A Memorandum of Understanding between the South East Aboriginal Focus Group and the South East NRM Board has been developed and agreed to by the Aboriginal Focus Group.

The group meets regularly to discuss various natural resource management issues in relation to Aboriginal owned or managed land. One of the key roles of the group is to provide the board with advice regarding natural resource management issues.
