Building sustainable communities

This project provides support and expertise to the South East Natural Resources Management (SE NRM) Board and Natural Resources South East (NRSE) to engage stakeholders and the community in a meaningful way.

Supporting the delivery of effective community engagement strategies, the project officer - Sustainable Communities Coordinator - also provides specialist expertise in designing and delivering meetings and workshops that invite stakeholder participation, and support staff to develop their own community engagement skills.

The focus is on SE NRM Board and levy funded activities such as pest plant and animal control, and long term planning processes undertaken on behalf of the Board. The Building Sustainable Communities project includes Department for Environment engagement activities such as work on parks and connecting with volunteers in the community.

The Sustainable Communities Coordinator also supports National Landcare Program projects through the provision of engagement advice, including planning, tactics, writing and media.
